Essential to every aspect of life is the security and resilience of water resources. From economic prosperity through to social cohesion and public health, Aurecon understands the true power of providing water services to meet the complex needs of tomorrow's world.
Your work begins with making a difference and realising the true value of water for clients and communities. Water security, water use efficiency, climate resilience, sustainable sanitation, and reduced risk from water pollution and floods are all areas that are key to our planning, design and construction processes for water projects.
The sustainable management of water infrastructure requires an integrated approach to design, construction, operations and management. Our team applies their knowledge of the water sector and couples this with design led engineering to create out of the box, and cost-effective solutions.
Who are we?
We challenge the status quo and we want to work with people who, like us, are passionate about fostering human achievement.

Our programme
Aurecon has challenged the traditional approach to graduate programmes, creating an environment where you can pursue your personal career interests, instead of being locked into a rigid rotation schedule where you spend several years in different areas of the company.
At Aurecon, you can express your interest in a preferred team, play to your strengths, and fast track your experience and development. You will also work alongside industry leading professionals, mentors and peers. If you'd like to experience numerous areas of Aurecon's business, then we can facilitate that too.
Bringing ideas to life at Aurecon is about being creative, grabbing onto new opportunities and getting the support you need to find your niche.

Aurecon is an engineering, design and advisory company, but not as you know it. We’ve reimagined engineering.
Supportive environment. Lots of opportunities and encouragement for training and career development, plenty of different work streams, informal networking events. Many offices mean there's chances for people to move to new areas for interesting and exciting projects.
People genuinely care for you and your wellbeing. Most of the people I have worked with have great work ethics. Approachable and knowledgeable colleagues. Great social life, through emerging professional network (called Limelight) and company events. People don't consider you as a graduate but as a member of the team. They give you the opportunities to develop your career or extracurricular aspirations. Very supportive team.
The company is very caring about my well-being. They are very considerate and always understanding. The work I do is very interesting, and I am learning a lot. A lot of my university work applies and is useful in understanding the task at hand.
Interesting and diverse work. Part of a team that pushes my limits, but also supports me and ensures that I always swim and never sink!
Awesome work-life balance. Flexible arrangements are available. Very creative and innovative for an engineering firm.
The learning and growth opportunities that are available to me. I love that I am not just pigeon-holed in one area and that those around me provide me opportunities to explore different areas of work.
As a company, the bar is set so high in terms of diversity and inclusion, equality and digital work practices that it gives us permission to complain about things we wouldn't at other companies.
Office culture is moving towards flexible working. Still transitioning away from watching the clock. Flat hierarchy, particularly good for young professionals. Socialising is up to the individual and their teams.
Sometimes a lack of support or understanding of lack of experience. Graduates tend to have to 'do their time' in the tougher field roles until they gain experience and become more senior.
My work is usually interesting and varied with multiple projects at once, but sometimes there are some less exciting things that just need to be done as with any job.
The downtime, sometimes there are periods where I don’t have any work and have to look for things to do.
