Cochlear Limited (Asia Pacific region) is looking for a passionate, high-performing and motivated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student to undertake a 6-month part-time (2-3 days per week) paid internship, commencing in January 2019.

This opportunity enables an undergraduate student of any discipline to gain valuable work experience in a global medical device business focused on helping people hear, and be heard. The Intern will be a key member of the Asia Pacific team, working closely with experienced, cross functional departments in a multinational organisation. Various projects will be undertaken throughout the internship, including those with an indigenous focus, in addition to other process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing a pilot to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders' hearing health in Sydney
• Working closely with the Australian field team; supporting the development of an indigenous framework with a dedicated focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander hearing health
• Researching and identifying indigenous project/advocacy opportunities/committee representation
• Supporting the APAC President and APAC Leadership Team to progress project action items to meet key deadlines
• Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the APAC business
• Supporting the APAC President and APAC Leadership Team to develop communications internally and externally including preparing reports and presentations
• Preparing reports and presenting data in formats that make summary findings easy to understand and that enable managers to make decisions easily
• Managing and supporting ad-hoc projects, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Candidates must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
• Currently undertaking a Bachelor's Degree
• Availability to work 20 hours a week, with a 6 month commitment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills along with initiative and an eagerness to learn
• High attention to detail, rigor and process, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple ongoing projects
• Excellent presentation skills and proven ability to work with PowerPoint and Excel
