We are looking for intelligent, curious, and enthusiastic graduates with an aptitude and passion for problem solving. A background in business is not required - our talented group of strategy consultants come from a range of academic backgrounds, including Science, Arts, Law, Engineering, Economics and Commerce.

You will work alongside exceptionally talented people in our small project teams, as you rapidly develop a broad range of personal and professional skills. Wherever you see your career heading, Port Jackson Partners can provide you with an incomparable launch pad for your future success.

Port Jackson Partners is one of Australia's most respected strategy consulting firms. We work with our clients to help them manage their biggest strategic challenges, providing advice directly to CEOs, Boards and senior executives. Whether close to home or around the globe, our engagements are as diverse as our top-tier clients.

Great people

For over 25 years, our people have been the key to our success: a supportive group of clever, curious, and enthusiastic problem solvers. Connection is one of our core values, and our calendar features regular social and sporting events, offsites, and celebrations.

High impact, idea-intensive work

We work with top-tier Australian and multi-national firms to solve their most critical business problems. We focus on strategic priorities, rather than implementation programs or operational issues. Clients turn to us for ideas and advice, and we work collaboratively with them to shape the future direction of their organisations.

Involvement and ownership

With fewer consultants per Director, we work in smaller teams than other consulting firms. Our graduates work closely with, and learn directly from, the firm's industry-leading partners. Graduates take on a significant role within teams from day one - contributing to the core problem solving process and interacting with clients.

Tailored, fast-paced development

We know that smart people need to keep learning - whether that's through an opportunity to work on a major project interstate or overseas; a Scandinavian adventure through our exchange partnership with Qvartz; opportunities for formal study; or working in a variety of different industries with some of Australia's leading companies. Our consultants receive ongoing formal and informal training as well as on-the-job coaching and feedback.

Pros and cons of working at Port Jackson Partners AU

Pros

  • Very interesting variety and impact of projects. Surrounded by very talented and driven people. Strong collegiate and collaborative culture

  • I love the people and culture at PJP - I get to work with fantastic people every day, and we really value our relationships with each other

  • The best parts are the people and the work - everyone is very smart and hardworking and willing to help one another. The work is very stimulating and interesting - we work with CEOs and senior executive management on critical issues and it's quite rare to have access to such opportunities at a graduate level.

  • Great opportunity and exposure, smart and ambitious colleagues

Cons

    • Sometimes the work is very intense - because our work is project-based, sometimes there is a hard deadline and we have to knuckle down and work long hours to get everything done

    • Our offices are a little outdated in terms of fit out. We're also gearing up to move offices next year which will be great!

    • Similar to other consulting firms, PJP is 70% male and 30% female. However, PJP is making an active effort towards opening opportunities and recruiting females and does support women and men with families.
