About Strategy&

Strategy& is a global team of practical strategists committed to helping seize essential advantage. We do that by working alongside our clients to solve their toughest problems and help realise their greatest potential. We bring 100 years of strategy consulting experience and the unrivalled industry and functional capabilities of the PwC network to the task. We are a member of the PwC network of firms in 157 countries with more than 184,000 people.

About the scholarship

Our Strategy& team understands that we'll only solve our clients' most challenging strategic problems if our working community offers and includes a diverse range of experience, talent and ideas. For this to happen, we believe that all of our people need to feel empowered and comfortable to bring their whole self to work. It's why we've created an inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone is encouraged to embrace their unique differences and harness them at work.

In 2019, we are again looking to hire and reward exceptional students who share our commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I). If you're in your penultimate year of undergraduate or postgraduate studies (completing in 2020) and are interested in joining Strategy&, we welcome your application to our scholarship program. We're looking to engage with students from a range of academic disciplines, backgrounds and experience.

Successful applicants will receive a scholarship of up to $15,000 and secure a four-week internship with the Strategy& team, which can be undertaken at a time that best suits you and us in either Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra. Scholars will receive ongoing support and guidance from a senior mentor at Strategy& and over the course of the internship, you'll also gain the opportunity to take part in our D&I committee and help shape the firm's priorities. Following completion of the internship, Scholars may receive an offer for a full-time graduate position with the Strategy& team.

The scholarship will be paid as follows:

  • $7,500 on commencement of the internship; and
  • if you are offered and accept a full-time graduate position with the Strategy& team, $7,500 to be paid upon commencing the graduate position.

About you

You're in your penultimate year of your undergraduate or postgraduate degree, have the right to work in Australia and are fluent in English. You share our passion for diversity and inclusion, holding an intellectual curiosity that is complimented by excellent academic achievement.

Your unique mix of talents and skills include:

  • Leadership skills that may have been acquired through internships, study abroad programs, volunteering or work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities paired with outstanding verbal and written communication skills allowing you to articulate complex problems and solutions effectively
  • Relationship building skills and a balanced IQ/EQ that enable effectiveness with clients and growth into senior roles
  • Commitment to client and team orientation (through skills such as active listening) and an ambition to build client capabilities that deliver meaningful impacts

Do you share our passion for diversity and inclusion?

In your cover letter, help us understand why diversity and inclusion are important to you by addressing the following (max. 1 page):

What is a dimension of diversity you are passionate about advancing in society, and why? In your answer, please describe your track-record of engagement with this dimension of diversity, highlighting any work you have done to foster greater inclusion of diversity within your circles.
