English for Academic Purposes (EAP) is an intensive English language program specifically designed to assist international students wishing to enter Bond University. The EAP program provides students with the academic language skills required in a university where English is the medium of instruction; these skills include the macro areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking (including pronunciation) as well as critical thinking and research skills.
In each level, EAP students are assessed in the four macro skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking through:
Full-time study involves 25 hours per week, with five of those hours being for independent study and/or individual consultation. Intakes for each EAP level are accepted in January, May and September, in line with Bond University's academic semesters - holiday periods of 3-5 weeks are allocated between each 14-week semester. This allows you to progress easily into the University's degree programs when the time comes.
