The Graduate Certificate in Taxation is the first stage of Curtin's modular taxation course, which includes graduate certificate, diploma and masters levels. You can exit after completing four units to receive a graduate certificate, after eight units to receive a graduate diploma or after 12 units for a Master of Taxation. This course can help you advance your career in taxation. It is a specialised foundation level course that is aimed primarily at taxation graduates who are seeking qualifications or continuing their professional development. It can also benefit corporate accountants, and financial planners and advisors who require specialist taxation qualifications, as well as members of the legal profession who are seeking a specialist taxation qualification. In this course you will study the Income Tax Assessment Act, and associated acts and regulations. You will learn how these acts and regulations apply to income tax returns.
