The Graduate Diploma of Medical Ultrasound prepares you for professional practice in modern diagnostic medical ultrasound.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will: hold a medical radiation science, allied health, nursing or medical degree (AQF7 or equivalent). In this context ‘allied health’ refers to degrees in which (1) graduates are autonomous practitioners with a direct patient care role, (2) there is a defined core scope of practice, (3) there are national entry level competency standards and assessment procedures, and (4) the course is accredited by a national body. students are required to be employed in ultrasound practice for a minimum of 3 days/week over a 2 year period, full-time equivalent, in an Australian or New Zealand clinical setting under the supervision of an Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) accredited supervisor or suitably qualified and experienced medical practitioner working in the clinical context. Prospective students are responsible for obtaining a trainee position and are required to complete a Clinical Placement form confirming the position details and submit it with their application for entry to the course.
