The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil Construction) and Diploma of Construction Management is a dual degree allowing you to gain the skills and qualification needed for a career as a civil engineer skilled in high-level engineering design, and managing the construction process. If you take advantage of the units offered in all three terms, you can fast track your studies and complete this course in four years. This course equips you with skills in financing, project scheduling and coordination of consultants and specialist contractors, along with skills in problem-solving, teamwork and professional practice. You will also gain foundational technical content in civil engineering. Throughout your studies, you will have work-integrated learning opportunities and complete an industry project. You will also complete a major individual project that integrates both civil engineering skills and construction management skills to confirm your ability to work as a civil engineer and a construction management specialist.
Prerequisite study: English (4, SA), Mathematics B (4, SA)
If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.
Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion within the last 5 years of:

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below.
English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

This course provides a unique opportunity to become a civil engineer with high-level engineering planning and design skills complemented by construction management skills including the financing, project scheduling and coordination of consultants and specialist contractors. Civil engineers are typically involved in planning design and maintenance of physical infrastructure systems including the construction of buildings and bridges, transport and water resource. Construction managers plan, organise and control activities associated with building projects and usually work in government departments, construction, building and sub-contracting companies.
