Charles Sturt University (CSU) Courses

Applicants for the Master of International Education (School Leadership) must meet the following admission requirements: * hold the degree of Bachelor of Education or AQF equivalent from an approved tertiary institution; or * hold the degree of Bachelor of Education (Honours) or AQF equivalent from an approved tertiary institution; or * hold a Bachelor’s degree or AQF equivalent from an approved tertiary institution with an end-on integrated professional teaching qualification (such as a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, or Bachelor of Teaching Secondary) AND STANDARD English Language Proficiency requirements. Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Organisational Change on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience.   Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will then be eligible for admission to a number of Masters programs offered by the Faculty of Business, Justice & Behavioural Sciences and receive credit for applicable subjects.

Bachelor of Border Management Applicants for the Bachelor of Border Management must meet the following Admission Requirements: * A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent) with an ATAR of at least 70 (including adjustment factors). OR * Successful completion of at least two Bachelor degree level subjects (or Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) equivalent) or higher in any discipline. OR * A completed Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate IV or higher, studied at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or equivalent. OR * A completed Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) or bridging program studied at a TAFE, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or University, or equivalent. OR * Partial completion of a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Diploma, of at least 50% from a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or equivalent. OR * Work experience, within the same industry as the course profile, of at least two years full time or equivalence, demonstrated by a detailed resume. English Language Proficiency Minimum CSU English Language Proficiency Requirements apply. Bachelor of Border Management (Customs) To be admitted into the course, prospective students must be serving officers currently employed in their customs or border administration departments or ministries. Only international students with the written approval of their Director General can be admitted. With this exception admission is according to the standard CSU criteria for undergraduate courses and all the specific requirements in place for the existing Bachelor of Border Management. Applicants must also meet the CSU admission requirements in terms of English language requirements for international students.

Master of Information Systems Security For entry to the Master of Information Systems Security applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) and appropriate work experience. Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Security on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will then be eligible for admission to the Master of Information Systems Security and receive credit for applicable subjects. Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Security Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Security on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will then be eligible for admission to the Master of Information Systems Security and receive credit for applicable subjects.

Master of Medical Science (with specialisations) This course is available to applicants who hold either a 3 or 4 year undergraduate bachelor degree in a relevant area or one of the following CSU Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diplomas: Graduate Certificate in Respiratory Science Graduate Certificate in Asthma and Respiratory Management Graduate Diploma of Genetic Counselling Applicants intending to complete the pathology specialisation will be required to have a minimum of 2 years full-time employment as a medical laboratory scientist (or equivalent).

Master of Contemporary Islamic Studies Applicants for the Master of Contemporary Islamic Studies must meet the following requirements. *          A completed Bachelors Degree (or AQF equivalent).   English Language Proficiency Standard English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements. Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Industrial Relations on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience.   Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will then be eligible for admission to a number of Masters programs offered by the Faculty of Business, Justice & Behavioural Sciences and receive credit for applicable subjects.

Master of Business Leadership For entry to the Master of Business Leadership, applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) PLUS relevant professional attainment/work experience.   Applicants without a tertiary qualification may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Business Leadership on the basis of professional attainment/work experience. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will be eligible for admission to the Master of Business Leadership and receive credit for applicable subjects. Graduates of CSU's Graduate Diploma of Organisational Coaching and Leadership will be eligible for admission to the Master of Business Leadership with full credits as per IECL agreements. Graduate Certificate in Business Leadership Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent) PLUS relevant professional attainment/work experience. Applicants may also be considered on the basis of relevant professional attainment and/or work experience alone.

Candidates for admission to the Doctor of Social Work shall: * have completed a Class 1 or Class 2 Division 1 Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) degree OR * have a master degree in social work  or human services by coursework attained at a Distinction average (6. 0) or better OR * have a master degree by research in social work or human services, and have at least three years of full-time-equivalent professional practice in social work or human services AND * meet the University's English language proficiency requirements. Variation to admission requirements based on alternative academic qualifications will be provisionally assessed by the Course Director and a recommendation on admission made to the Research Committee.

Applicants for the Bachelor of Public Safety and Security must meet the following Admission Requirements: * A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent) with an ATAR of 65 (including adjustment factors). OR Successful study at University level of at least two subjects in any area, provided the subjects are full university level. OR * A completed Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate III or higher, studied at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) - or equivalent. OR * A completed Tertiary Preparation Certificate (TPC) or bridging program studied at a TAFE, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or University - or equivalent. OR * Partial completion of a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Diploma, of at least 50% from a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) - or equivalent. OR * Work experience of at least two years full time or equivalent, in a related industry to the course, such as law enforcement, human services, corrections or justice administration, demonstrated by a detailed resume.
