Prerequisites: English (4, SA)

English Requirements:

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion of:

• a secondary qualification (Year 11 or 12, or equivalent), or

• tertiary diploma level qualification, or

• bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA 4.0

completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United States of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below.

• An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each subset; or

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Requires 550 or better overall & minimum TWE score of 4.5 (Paper Based Test), or 75 or better overall and no score less than 17 (Internet Based Test); or

• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Requires an overall score of 54 with no sub-score less than 46; or

• An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components; or

• Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - Score of 180 or above; or

• Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English - Score of 200 or above; or

• Combined Universities Language Test (CULT) - 70% with no individual component score of less than 15.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

This qualification reflects the role of an enrolled nurse working under supervision of a registered nurse. This qualification covers the application of skills and knowledge required to provide nursing care for people across the health sector.
Entry Requirements

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

All applicants for the Diploma of Nursing are required to provide evidence of meeting at least one of the below:

1. You have attended and satisfactorily completed at least six years of primary and secondary education in either Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States of America, Canada or South Africa, which was taught and assessed in English. This study must include at least two years between Year 7 and Year 12.

2. You have successfully completed at least five years (full-time equivalent) of education in either Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States of America, Canada or South Africa which was taught and assessed in English. Only the following combination of education will be accepted:

  • Vocational and secondary education; or
  • Tertiary and vocational education; or
  • Tertiary, vocational and secondary education; or
  • Tertiary education.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below. English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study.

1. IELTS (academic module). We only accept test results:

  • from one test sitting, or
  • a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if:
    • you achieve a minimum overall score of 7 in each sitting, and
    • you achieve a minimum score of 7 in each component across the two sittings, and
    • no score in any component of the test is below 6.5

2. OET. We will only accept test results:

  • from one test sitting, or
  • a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if:
    • you are tested in all four components in each sitting, and
    • you achieve a minimum score of B in each component across the two sittings, and
    • no score in any component of the test is below C.

3. PTE Academic. We will only accept test results:

  • from one test sitting, or
  • a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if:
    • a minimum overall score of 65 is achieved in each sitting, and
    • you achieve a minimum score of 65 in each of the communicative skills across the two sittings, and
    • no score in any of the communicative skills is below 58

4. TOEFL iBT. We will only accept test results:

  • from one test sitting, or
  • a maximum of two test sittings in a six month period only if:
    • a minimum total score of 94 is achieved in each sitting, and you achieve a minimum score of 24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing and 23 for speaking across the two sittings, and
    • no score in any of the sections is below:
      • 20 for listening
      • 19 for reading
      • 24 for writing, and
      • 20 for speaking

NOTE Students who are not born in the above recognised countries need to be aware of the English Requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia that need to be demonstrated prior to registration. Mandatory Clinical Placement Requirements:

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who work as beauty therapists to provide a range of beauty therapy treatments and services, including lash and brow treatments, nail services, make-up, massage and waxing.
Entry Requirements
This course is for traineeship training only. Students must be employed as a trainee in a relevant industry.

This qualification applies to a range of administrative roles in varied contexts. Individuals in these positions use some discretion and judgement and may provide technical advice and support to a team.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification though it is recommended that students have basic computer skills, keyboard skills, and appropriate literacy and numeracy levels. Other requirements: The Certificate III Business Administration includes a core unit of BSBITU307 which includes a supervised 5 minute speed and accuracy typing test as part of the assessment for this unit of competency. All students must be able to attend a local CQUni or TAFE campus to complete the supervised test.

Entry Requirements

Domestic Students

  • Diploma qualification from the national Public Safety Training Package
  • Diploma qualification from the national Police Training Package or
  • Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) (HLT50412 or earlier) from the Health Training Package from a State or Territory Ambulance Service or
  • Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) (HLT50412 or earlier) from the Health Training Package from other training providers considered on a case by case basis.
  • Other Vocational Education and Training (VET) training package qualification applicable to an emergency service role or context considered on a case by case basis.

International Students

  • Qualification equivalent to an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma from the Fire and Emergency Service or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) context
